Digital Competency Levels

A. Level – Foundation

Establishes the bare minimum of criteria for a user in a specific module. This level of attendee is capable of using general tools at a basic functional level and is familiar with the theoretical underpinnings of a module (such as document processing). About 15% of the technological potential in this field is tested at this level.

A1: at a fundamental level and under supervision.
A2: at a fundamental level, with independence and suitable direction as required.

B. Level – Intermediate

Confirms the Level A-Foundation competencies as well as the module’s more extensive use of tools and ICT. About 30% of the technological potential in this field is tested at this level.

B3: independent and capable of handling simple issues.
B4: autonomously, in accordance with personal requirements, and resolving specific, non-routine issues.

C. Level – Advanced

Demonstrates one’s intermediate proficiency in using sophisticated ICT tools in a tested field. About 60% of the technological potential in this field is tested at this level.

C5—in addition to directing others, C6—in accordance with one’s own and others’ requirements, and in intricate situations,

D. Level – Highly Specialised

Demonstrates expertise, substantial knowledge, and useful abilities in a validated field. During the exam, about 90% of the knowledge in the specific subject being tested is confirmed.

D7 is extremely specialized, while D8 is the most sophisticated and specialized level.
